THREE FOR THREE

 O’ BAY’S IRISH PUB

Seventy-four people attended O’Bay’s Irish Pub. Bay Shore made a profit of over $1,000, not including the Bar.

Most attendees dressed for St Patrick’s Day. We added green beer for those who wanted to experiment and a luncheon of Pulled Pork or Chili lunch.

Sue did a Trivia on St. Patrick’s – two teams tied, so they had a Dart off! The score was 86 for the bad guys and 18 for the good guns. Thanks, Sue.

Now for the PARTY…

With…D.J Marty Carlisle

And what a party it was. Everyone got their groove on. Frank has to be our classic dancer; it’s fantastic to watch him. I don’t think Ryan had so much fun dancing. We had several people from the community join and party along with us. Nobody wanted to stop. The refreshments continued to flow through the afternoon, thanks to our excellent bartenders: Sandy McLoughlin, Kim Keffer, and Norm McLaughlin.

Wait until you see all the great pictures once the new website runs.

CONGRATULATIONS

Once again, we congratulate Lynn Davis for her extraordinary ideas and special little touches that make these events exceptional. And her ideas wouldn’t have been possible without her core committee and all their tremendous help in making the event come together. Thank you to Corrine Piper, Dee Colton, Tony Worsley, Anita Schrepfer, Helen Gibb and Philip, Sue Millington, Judy Cabell Bev Grant, Helen Manion, and Lorri Watson. We missed you, Dee and Gord. I hope you are feeling better. And a very special thank you to Lynn for creating these remarkable events. CONGRATULATION, LYNN!

I also want to thank the Pickleball players who played Friday evening for setting up the tables and chairs for us.

Maybe this is what Bay Shore Seniors is Looking For!

LifeStyles Belly Dancing Finally Came to Fruition

The morning began with a wide variety of treats provided by Lifestyle volunteers. Sharon assisted Helen with setting up coffee, tea, and juices.

The members who got there early helped set the chairs in a horseshoe format, and Jane and Adele, dressed in traditional costumes, were front and centre. We all wore a long scarf around our hips to help get our wiggle on. The ladies started teaching us leg, hip, arm and chest techniques. We had a blast shaking our booty and chests to make our jingle jangles shake. Everyone had a great time and was able to look like we could do some form of belly dancing. We even had a couple of gentlemen join us, who also had fun.

Thanks to Helen Gibb, Sharon Buchy, and the volunteers who brought delicious treats. Also, a huge thank you to Jane and Adele for being such great sports and having so much fun.

A wonderful morning for all.

Ryan’s Birthday

What a wonderful afternoon for Ryan! Dee and Gord always make a point of treating Shuffleboard members to a birthday treat.

Ryan’s was no exception. He was so emotional when everyone sang “Happy Birthday.” It was a day Ryan will never forget.

Daphne’s Celebration of Life

I want to thank everyone involved in making Daphne’s Celebration of Life a wonderful afternoon for the Spearing Family. The family was delighted, and everyone seemed to have felt it was a memorable afternoon to remember Daphne. We were fortunate to have Scott L, Greg and Helen M, Norm M, Terry and Sue M and Lorri setting up the tables and chairs the day before.

Thank you to Kim K, Sheila and Bill B, Shirley R, Sharon B, Judy W, Arlene A, Judy C, Deb G, Sue M, Elaine S, Marlene, and Helen G, who dropped off sandwiches, veggies and fruit trays. Our Bartenders, Norm M, Kim K, and Sandy M, were great at supporting an open bar.

However, it wouldn’t have been possible to put it all together without the help of Sandy B, Judy C, Lynn D, Sue and Terry, Sandy M, Marilyn L, Norm M, Scott L, Carolyn A, her sister Pam, Lorri W, and Phillip and Helen G. Thank you!

May you rest in peace, Daphne Spearing!
