Our club has some great sporting activities in the Summer and Winter, and new members are always welcome.

Things to do...
Together

Once every couple of months we plan a Games Afternoon. We play darts, euchre and Mexican Train (board game), but other ideas are always welcome.

So Much Fun!

Lifestyle

Our Lifestyle Section features several exciting activities. The participation fee is a toonie ($2), and there is a ‘Share the Wealth’ draw for a loonie ($1). During intermission, refreshments like tea, coffee, and cookies are provided. Most activities take place from September to May, with a few exceptions, including a Christmas celebration and a season-ending banquet. Everyone is welcome to join.

ACCESS ART: This group gathers on Wednesday afternoons at 1 PM from September to June. Members explore different mediums such as water-colour, acrylics, oils, pastels, collages, pencils, and ink. The themes range from abstract to realistic art. People of all skill levels are encouraged to join.

BOOK CLUB: The book club convenes on the fourth Thursday of each month at 1 PM. Members share insights about their current reads, and there is typically a special reading assignment focused on a book, author, or topic. Refreshments are provided, and a book draw takes place. The fee is a toonie ($2), which helps cover refreshments and large print books for the Bay Shore Library.

CRAFTS: The craft group meets on Tuesday afternoons at 1 PM from September to June, except for the second Tuesday of each month. Members create various crafts for the Craft Bazaar and charitable causes. There are always experienced members ready to teach newcomers knitting or crocheting. The group contributes a significant amount of money to Bay Shore annually from their sales.

WOOD CARVING: Wood Carvers meet on Friday afternoons at 1 PM. All are invited to participate, regardless of experience, in activities such as chip carving, relief carving, sculptures, and wood burning. Some tools are available for new members.

Choir

We rehearse at Bay Shore and sing at nursing homes in the area. The music is a mixture of secular and religious. We do four-part harmony where possible. Drop in to find out about what we do and see if you would like to join our group.
We believe that it is important for all members to become familiar with each other, not just through our activities but also by meeting outside of them. This connection helps you discover fellow members who have similar interests, which can lead to the formation of new activity groups. Establishing these relationships can greatly enhance your experience and opportunities within the organization.

Trips & Travel

A small group of members arrange day trips and, on occasion, overnight excursions or cruises. Information on trips is given out a month or two before the event. Members can sign up, and a waiting list is usually available.

The travel committee is always eager to hear about new ideas for visiting places.
